The Novice and Intermediate Rider Courses are offered through Puget Sound Safety with whom we have partnered with to provide you a one-stop process where DESTINATION HARLEY-DAVIDSON /BUELL provides you with the added support of a knowledgeable and caring staff. Right at our location we will sign you up, take payment and provide you with all class information needed to be successful. Also by signing up with us you will be taking the class with some other riders of similar riding experience that share your enthusiasm for Harley-Davidson® Motorcycles

Classes Offered

Novice Rider Training

The Novice Rider Training is designed for the person with little or no riding experience, as well as returning riders. This course includes 16 hours of instruction, both in the classroom and on the range. You will learn the basic skills needed to ride safely as well as gain your endorsement with successful completion of a written and skills test (optional).

Intermediate Rider Training

The Intermediate Rider Training is designed for the person with a minimum of 90 days and 3,000 miles of riding experience. Even if you’ve been riding for some time, there’s always something new to learn. Increasing numbers of seasoned riders are flocking to hone their skills and fine-tune the mental skills needed for survival in traffic. This course includes 6 hours of on range instruction done on your own motorcycle. Make sure you get your insurance discount for taking this class.

Student must provide:
The following equipment is required for both the Novice and Intermediate Rider courses

  • DOT-approved helmet
  • Eye protection
  • Over-the-ankle footwear
  • Full fingered leather gloves
  • Long sleeve shirt & long pants
  • A parental permission form if under the age of 18 prior to the first riding session
  • Prepare for the weather (rain gear, sunglasses, drinks, etc.)

Motorcycle

Novice Riders will have a choice of a variety of well-maintained motorcycles each carefully chosen to provide the rider with the highest confidence & rider-friendly manners providing you with the best chance for success.

Intermediate riders must provide their own Motorcycle (in good working order & street legal), Motorcycle insurance is also required

Costs

The Novice Training costs
$250 per person

The Intermediate Training costs $125 per person

Schedule

The Novice Training is broken down into a two-day or three day schedule. You will receive the details for the days and times for your course when you sign up. A variety of Hours:

3-Day Normal Schedule
(6 p.m. – 10 p.m., 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

3-Day Schedule (Afternoon Schedule)
(6 p.m. – 10 p.m., 1 p.m. – 10 p.m., 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.)

2-day Schedule
(9 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
